Mother's Day with three moms

The second shoot I had on Mother's Day had a bonus - three moms all in one session. I met B (the mom on the left in this photo) at one of my Pottery Barn Kids photoshoots back in the fall of 2005 when she (and I) were both about to pop with new babies. (Her "new baby" from back then is the little blondie on the right, now 2 1/2.) She invited her sister and mother for Mother's Day photos this year, and to commemorate the mom focus of the day... all the blog photos from this session are of moms - from both generations.

So we start with the three beautiful moms...

And Grandma with her three cuties.

I love this one next to the other grandma one -- big hugs.

And a not-so-crazy swinging picture with mom, too :)

And here are the boys from their first in-home photoshoot last fall. Look at those grins!

And here's one last one from J's first photoshoot with me back in the fall of '05 at Pottery Barn Kids. Don't you love those eyebrows?

Thanks for the fun Mother's Day photos, guys - all the photos will be ready by the end of the week!

Look-alike sibs

I met this little cutie in the spring of 2005 at one of my photoshoots at the Pottery Barn Kids store (yes, my backdrop, lights and I were all squished in there within the cute kids furniture), and his grin was just infectious.

And he didn't mind time on his tummy at all :)

Then last week, at my Jimmy Fund Studio Day (1pm appointment), I met his little sister. She was a fabulously chubby pleasure too!

Leg rolls, arm rolls... all the very best.

I lurrrrve expressive baby eyebrows.

And little pointed toes, the wrinkle of folded skin around the wrist... sigh...

The cuties just keep on coming!

Jimmy Fund Studio Day, my 9:00am appointment:

So I'm finally beginning to blog about the Jimmy Fund Studio Day. It was a week ago, and we raised over $800 for the Jimmy Fund. Thank you all! I'm going to be slowly working on the photos over the next couple of weeks, with a goal of getting all of them all finished for everyone by two weeks from today (4/8). I'll be going through one shoot at a time, in chronological order. So this first one is my 9am from the studio day, and I have to post a zillion background shots for this one because I've been taking pictures of his sisters for years. Bear with me (scroll down) to get to his pictures. This one is from one of the first sessions I had at the Janie & Jack store with his sister back in the spring of '05. Isn't she perfect?

Then, a year later, her beautiful sister arrived:

And then that fall, in '06, I got to see the sisters again, first little miss:

And the gorgeous big sister:

And then finally we get to this year's photo - the little man, loving the Thomas the Tank Engine. Aren't his toes to die for, and the splayed out fingers just fantastic? The tongue kills me, too.

This one reminds me of that "Kilroy Was Here" graffiti from WWII... peeking over the edge like this. Only MUCH cuter :)

Yum.

And last but not least, I do love the crying face. So sad, but so wonderful all at once. Thanks to this family for sharing your cuties with me over and over again! I'll send you an email when all the photos are ready in about 2 weeks.

An oldie but a goodie

A few years ago I used to do photos in Janie & Jack and Pottery Barn Kids stores, and I still hear from the wonderful families I met doing this. Over the years people have contacted me to ask if they could buy copies of the photos I shot in the stores, and I've always had to stay no since the company who hired me sold the photos to the clients directly. But now it's gotten to be so long ago that I shot these photos that the company I worked for doesn't have the files anymore, so when someone contacted me today asking about photos I shot back in March of 2005, I got to go back and look at them... Ah-DOR-able! What a cutie this little one was!

Jimmy Fund Studio Day will be Tues, 3/18

I'm doing my bi-annual Jimmy Fund Studio Day on Tuesday, March 18th, and I have fourteen appointments available from 9am - 4:30pm. As usual, 100% of the session fees go to the Jimmy Fund. To reserve a time, you can bid on the different timeslots on eBay. (You can read all the details about the day here, on my website studio page.)

I've just launched all the auctions on eBay, and there's a cool donation tracker where you can track the status of the different bids.

Hope to see you in March!

Jimmy Fund Studio Day info

Plans are in the works for this year's Jimmy Fund Studio Day. It looks like it's going to be in mid/late March, and as usual I'm going to be donating 100% of the session fees to the Jimmy Fund. I'm excited because this time it looks like I'll be auctioning off the appointments online. I can't wait to launch the Donation Tracker that we're working on - it's going to be really cool. I'm hoping to launch it by the end of February, and people on the waiting list will get an email about it before everybody else. To be added to the waiting list, email me at jess AT bostonbabyphotos.com.

Tag, you're it!

These three guys were fantastic. We had a cold day, but they decided to go coatless anyway, which I think looked great. We had to move and groove to stay warm, but that was OK - it made it even more fun.

Here's O, back in the spring of '06, when she came in to one of my store photoshoots at Janie & Jack with her younger brother. The way her eyes look here are the whole reason I love shooting studio style once in a while. Gorgeous.

Here's her brother on that same day in the spring of '06, enjoying Thomas the Tank Engine the way only a teething boy can. (Thomas was disinfected between each child, don't worry!)

Two fabulous grins

I've been taking pictures of T since he was just a little guy, and it's so fun to see him playing with M now! Just after she was born we did a shoot, and T was so amazing with her... just such a gentle, sweet brother, I loved it. I'll post one from that shoot below. And then before that we'd done one last xmas when mom was pregnant with M, and we had lots of fun playing outside. Going back and seeing how families grow and change is one of the best best best parts of doing what I do.

When M was just 5 weeks old, and T was 3, earlier this year, I got to come meet her for her first photoshoot. I can't say it enough - I love love taking pictures of big siblings with their new baby brothers and sisters. Their interactions are just so amazing. T was so gentle and sweet with his new sister.

And this is from last xmas, back in 2006, when M was still in her mom's belly, we played outside a bit. I always have such fun with these guys.

And can't forget T, back in the day at the Janie & Jack store photoshoot in Spring '05 in my silver washtub with that yellow rubber duck. His little curls behind his ear and those lashes... you can see how much M already looks like him - I love it!

Big squeeze

These guys were such good sports - we zipped outside in the snow for a couple of shots, and they decided to brave the cold, but a good hug kept them warm. I love how long E's hair has gotten since last year!

1857, originally uploaded by Boston Baby Photos.

I swear, E looks just like a Gap model in this getup, doesn't she? I love it.

1746, originally uploaded by Boston Baby Photos.

And then last year, here's E watching her mom waving from outside the window :)

789, originally uploaded by Boston Baby Photos.

And when E was just a little munchkin, we met back at the Janie & Jack photoshoots I used to do at the Natick Mall. Wasn't she gorgeous, even then?

Holiday wishes

Doesn't J look like she's making an xmas wish? I love the faraway look in her eye. I know I keep saying this, but she's gotten so big since the last time I took her picture, back in April! Her sister S is below...

I'm a total sucker for eyelash pictures - I adore them. And S has such great ones, I love this moment -- it's so quiet.

Here are the beauties together, back in early April.

I almost forgot to include an oldie but a goodie - here's S at her Janie & Jack photoshoot back in the Spring of '05, trying on mom's glasses. :) For more info on this "studio style" photography, see info about my bi-annual Jimmy Fund Studio Days here.

Nice smiles!

I took pictures of the gorgeous smiler on the right a few years back at one of my Pottery Barn photoshoots, and then her cutie pie brother came to my Jimmy Fund benefit day last fall... and now I finally got them together. This was a chilly one, but they were sports when I snuck over and grabbed their hats off their heads for this shot. Thanks for grinning at me, guys :)

Here's a shot from A's Jimmy Fund studio session this past fall. More info about studio sessions (I just do them 2x a year, to benefit the Jimmy Fund) can be found here.

And here's big sister A, back in the fall of 2005. This one was one of the Pottery Barn Kids photoshoots I used to do. I stopped doing them because I don't have time anymore, but it used to be a great way to get to know new families! Exhausting days, but wonderful people, and adorable kidlets.
