Another perfect newbie

So here's the last post from this spring's Jimmy Fund Studio Day - ten wonderful families brought their cuties in for studio photos (which I only do for charity a couple of times a year) and this is the last one for this spring. It's tiny J - absolutely adorable tootsies, first... can't lose with toes...

J had a grin to end all grins.

So I have to admit one of the things I love about teenie tiny newborns is their fantastic expressions - this one says to me "You know, you guys all look pretty funny dancing, but if I must... Raise the roof!"

And oh - wow - does anyone else just love this one the way I do? It's just so fun! Craning his little neck... adorable.

So thanks again to all my Jimmy Fund Studio Day families. We raised over $800 for the Jimmy Fund, and got lots of great photos doing it!

9 week old cutie

So any parent knows those first weeks after the baby's born are exhausting and amazing, all at once. My last two Jimmy Fund Studio Day sessions were of these fantasticly adorable newborns, and here's #1 of 2. Do you believe this coy half-smile?

This is one of my favorites - I love those pursed lips and the pensive look on her face. She's got us figured out!

Teenie fingers... and her expression, so fascinated with my big light...

It is exhausting being a star.

And peeking up at me, with mom helping on the head-holding front...

Twinkling eyes, every time

Here's another little one I've known since she was just a wee girlie. Her mom and I were in the same mom's group in Somerville when our girls were first born, so it's really fun for me to see how she grows every time I take her picture. Here she is at her first photoshoot with me, at my Sept '06 Jimmy Fund Studio Day...

I just love how fair her skin is, and how fantastic her blue eyes look with this adorable little blue smock dress:

And then that Halloween, I got to capture G dressed up as a leopard. Not many cuter leopards out there.

And then this Halloween ('07), I got to experience another of G's costumes... this time a ladybug, of course.

And now last week, at the 1:30pm appointment of my Jimmy Fund Studio Day, 2 1/2 year old G arrived, and yay - she was a pleasure. Isn't that grin killer?

Do you believe her mom said she refuses to pose for pictures at home? Isn't it always the way? Put her in the lights in the studio, though, and she was hilarious!

And I love all her different expressions. Ahhhhhh! :)

And this one needed to be color - those eyes with that pink dress... just so lovely.

Look-alike sibs

I met this little cutie in the spring of 2005 at one of my photoshoots at the Pottery Barn Kids store (yes, my backdrop, lights and I were all squished in there within the cute kids furniture), and his grin was just infectious.

And he didn't mind time on his tummy at all :)

Then last week, at my Jimmy Fund Studio Day (1pm appointment), I met his little sister. She was a fabulously chubby pleasure too!

Leg rolls, arm rolls... all the very best.

I lurrrrve expressive baby eyebrows.

And little pointed toes, the wrinkle of folded skin around the wrist... sigh...

I love dimples

my Jimmy Fund Studio Day 11:30am appointment:

This little guy has three older brothers, but mom brought him in for my Jimmy Fund Studio day all by himself. I love this shot with mom's cool zebra shoes and her bright green shirt, not to mention the best rolls and squishy legs...

See what I mean about the dimples?

Next to dimples, I also just adore arm rolls. I guess I'm in the right line of work.

9730, originally uploaded by Boston Baby Photos.

So proud of being able to hold up his own head :)

And last but not least, I just love all the skin textures in this one.

Fun with her new brother

So I've known little H since she was just a few weeks old - her mom and I met in a mom's group (our girls are almost the same age), and she came to my Jimmy Fund Studio Day last spring and gave me her gorgeous smile then:

And then she showed me her halloween costume this past October when she was just about 2 yrs old:

My Jimmy Fund Studio Day 11:00am appointment:

And now look at her. Isn't she adorable?

And this time she introduced me to her perfect-cheeked little brother:

They even got some cuddles in.

And baby brother got to show me his Red Sox pride. Love it!

Eyelashes and grins

This guy has the best eyelashes and most infectious smile ever. I met him six months ago at my last Jimmy Fund Benefit Studio Day, (here he is in September with his lighter summer hair), and he's such a pleasure.

And reclining in the chair...

And here's R - I love his fingers in this shot, all intertwined...

See what I mean about the eyelashes?

And I had to include this one - I feel like six months ago he was still such a little guy, and here he looks like he's four going on eleven...

A boy and his Wii

I met T and his big sister M last summer, and then T has come to my last two Jimmy Fund Studio Days. Here's a shot from last summer when they took a bit of time to read in the back yard. I love the way the light reflects on the book up into their faces in this one.

Then last fall T enjoyed a little fun with my trusty Thomas train...

Jimmy Fund Studio Day, my 10:00am appointment:
And then here's T from last week, holding his beloved Wii. He takes it everywhere. I love capturing little things like that in photos. I think he'll probably stop carrying it around eventually :), and then later these'll be fun photos to have.

What a handsome guy.

M&M - gorgeous-o

Jimmy Fund Studio Day, my 9:30am appointment:

A year and a half ago, I met M at one of my first Jimmy Fund Studio Days - and this shot of her back with it's perfect dimples is one of my favorites ever. I love love love it. This time she brought her brother (the littler of the two M's), and you've got to see how alike they look...

So this is the front of big sister M, from the Sept '06 shoot:

And this is from last week, little brother M - with a great pursed expression... makes me laugh every time I look at it... But don't his eyes look just like his sister's eyes in the photo above?

And big girl M sharing her snack with her brother.

Getting a squeeze from mom...

And speaking of great pursed lip expressions - how great is this? Of course we got lots of great smiley pictures too, but these ones are more fun :) I'll have all the rest of the photos ready for you guys by 4/8!

The cuties just keep on coming!

Jimmy Fund Studio Day, my 9:00am appointment:

So I'm finally beginning to blog about the Jimmy Fund Studio Day. It was a week ago, and we raised over $800 for the Jimmy Fund. Thank you all! I'm going to be slowly working on the photos over the next couple of weeks, with a goal of getting all of them all finished for everyone by two weeks from today (4/8). I'll be going through one shoot at a time, in chronological order. So this first one is my 9am from the studio day, and I have to post a zillion background shots for this one because I've been taking pictures of his sisters for years. Bear with me (scroll down) to get to his pictures. This one is from one of the first sessions I had at the Janie & Jack store with his sister back in the spring of '05. Isn't she perfect?

9569, originally uploaded by Boston Baby Photos.

Then, a year later, her beautiful sister arrived:

And then that fall, in '06, I got to see the sisters again, first little miss:

And the gorgeous big sister:

And then finally we get to this year's photo - the little man, loving the Thomas the Tank Engine. Aren't his toes to die for, and the splayed out fingers just fantastic? The tongue kills me, too.

This one reminds me of that "Kilroy Was Here" graffiti from WWII... peeking over the edge like this. Only MUCH cuter :)

9267, originally uploaded by Boston Baby Photos.

Yum.

9257, originally uploaded by Boston Baby Photos.

And last but not least, I do love the crying face. So sad, but so wonderful all at once. Thanks to this family for sharing your cuties with me over and over again! I'll send you an email when all the photos are ready in about 2 weeks.
