The beach in New England in October? Why not!

So we've been trying to find a time to take these pictures since this summer - and as time passed, we'd almost given up on the idea of taking the pictures at the beach. But lo and behold, last Sunday was unseasonably warm, so we lucked out and had a blast at the beach with these pretty ladies:


They're just so sweet together.


I love how much fun they have together.


And not many of my shoots include a fashion sunglasses pouting shot:


And with their beautiful mama:


And then at the end they let loose and went wading in the water - splashing each other and having fun. I loved taking these pictures, guys - a pleasure to see you as always!

Racing on the beach

3 1/2 year old R and his mom also met me on that Gloucester beach on Tuesday (I always love to book multiple shoots in one location when the location is far away from me), and we had fun running around on the sand all together:

So it's my farewell to summer photoshoots - the end of beach sessions for New England, probably... bring on the fall.  Yikes!  Happy Labor Day weekend, everybody.  This shot seemed fitting as a farewell.

R, it was great to see you again, and I hope you guys enjoyed the rest of your day at the beach.

A perfect beach morning

Tuesday morning I met these guys at a Gloucester beach - and it was just a perfect mornng.  Poor little (nearly 2 year old) W had spent the night before our shoot learning how to climb out of his pack-n-play, so his mom was worried he was exhausted... but you'd never know it from these pictures!

Rules are made to be broken

So I have all these things I recommend to people, like when we take a little light haired kidlet outside, we don't put them in white, since the white tends to bleach out in the black and white photos. And when parents of one year olds ask about beach pictures, I'll often suggest we just stay in the back yard, since kids are so much more comfortable in their own space... no big beach bags to pack... etc...

But you know what? Rules, shmules. I'll show you why we threw the rules out the window in a sec. For now, here's little baby N just over a year ago, when he was only 11 days old.
