Thanks to Jury Duty and my trusty laptop, I got to work on these sweet pictures this morning (thank heavens for grandmas who watch my girlies)... And no worries, I was excused (the judge took pity on me when I explained that I have a nursing baby at home), so no delays on people's pictures!
Little baby R had the teeniest little toes - look at 'em: Aren't they adorable?
And she apparently already had a sense of humor:
We caught a few smiles:
Some loving daddy time:
And some loving mama time:
I love how her little eyes are squinched up in this one. Don't worry, sweetheart!
She was just so alert and lovely - it was a pleasure to get to spend time with her!

Running on the porch
I met big sister O back when she was a chubby cutie, and now she's a big tall girl of almost three. Her little brother is 16 months old, and they loved running around together:
Aren't they a handsome crew?
Tossed around:
Sit and spin:
Blowing bubbles:
And on one of those deadly hot days in the middle of August, bathing suits and playing in the water was just a requirement!
What a good sport little G was!
Wonderful to see you guys again!

Two times the cuteness
These guys are 10 months old and full of energy! Their parents got a gift certificate a while back and decided to use it now, in time for the holidays.
I wasn't sure I could tell them apart, but after working on their pictures, I think I've got it now. Pretty proud of myself :)
Knuckles with dimples are my very favorite.
And they didn't want to be shirtless. It was incredible to see how similar their upset times where... they were completely in sync. Tough for their hard working parents - but amazing to see.
And the same position calmed both of them down. Isn't it amazing?
It was a treat meeting you all - thanks for having me!

Rolls and eyelashes
This big handsome boy was incredible with his rolls and his eyelashes! He's only 3 1/2 months old - the same age as my Sadie. So fun to start taking pictures of babies who are the same age as my second girlie...
I love this as he gets comfy on his chair:
And those finger sucking moments...
Taking a peek out the window:
Tickles from mom:
And perfect toes:
Doesn't he look like he's so interested in his mama? So loving.
And I challenge you not to yawn while you're looking at this next picture. Ha! :)

Seven years later
"No fair!" you cry. "You're blogging this family's photos mere hours after you shot them?" I know, I know. No fair. But see, the beauty behind the first (cool, right?) photo you see here (we'll call her Ms. M, for the purposes of the blog) was one of the first few babies I ever took pictures of. She, and her friend Ms. E (not pictured) were my first muses... the reason I started photographing children. It was seven years ago, I was fresh out of an MBA program, holding my degree in my hot little hand, knowing I wanted to find some way to start my own business, but not sure what to do. I was dating a great guy, and his friends were starting their families... and the little books of black and white photos of their children that I'd been making had been something of a hit. So I went for it. Business plan, and... go! Boston Baby Photos was born. Now it's seven years later, I'm married to that great guy, we have two gorgeous girls of our own, and this business manages to make me smile every day.
So when you've got that kind of history with me, you get to jump the line a bit and get (at least your blog post) done right away. (The rest of the pictures will be done in a couple of weeks, guys, sorry - trying to still be a bit fair to everybody else.)
But for now, I had to at least show you these.
How cool is this? Ms. M is a lovely lady of seven and a half (nearly eight) now, and she obligingly made this photo with me. I'm digging it.
A little history? I've stopped doing these "see what they looked like when they were tiny" examples in the blog, because digging out the old photos was taking me too much time... but I thought Ms. M deserved it. Look at those knuckles!
And now she has two beautiful sisters... they had a blast playing in the water today.
And their parents were troopers when I suggested they sit their wet little butts down in laps. But it worked! :)
The little ones get their big sister:
The divine Ms. C - now five years old!
And what happens when you ask the three year old to fill up the pool? Maybe some of the water actually makes it there....
And here she is, the lovely Ms. S - the best expression!
OK, sorry to tease all these and then make you wait weeks for the rest, but I was excited to peek through them and I had to honor my little muse. Thanks again for having me back. See you guys soon!

10 day old tiny toes
Last Saturday I had three newborn shoots in a row - this was my 3rd one of the day. I love little patterns in my schedule... and before I tell you about this wonderful family, I had to share. (You can scroll down the blog to see the other two newborns from that day.) So my first shoot was with a two week old baby, and there were two children in the family. Then my second shoot was with a three week old baby, and there were three children in the family. And now this last shoot of the day was a ten day old baby, (no... they didn't have ten children!) but if I round down to one week, they fit my little pattern because just had one baby in their family. OK, too much talk, not enough pictures. Sorry :)
These guys were given a gift certificate for their first shoot by a great friend (a.k.a. Auntie Kath), and I'm so excited to show them all the pictures! Here's a toesie kiss. Look at those tiny legs!
And cradled in dad's bicep, showing off his own bicep :)
Gesundheit!
Beautiful, all around.
And I always know when I'm in a mellow dog family when they let their pup (the first baby) give the new baby smooches. Now that's true love.
I love how tiny he looks here on the bed, legs crossed:
And that startle reflex that goes away so quickly! Glad we caught it here.
Handsome dude.
See that Dad is holding the binkie in this shot? Can you just hear the *POP* noise it made as it was extracted from C's mouth?
So great to meet you guys. Hope to see you again soon! Thanks again, Auntie Kath!

3 weeks old: Third time's a charm
This is the third time I've visited this family when a child of theirs is 3 weeks old. And she was a charm! How cool to see their babies at this exact stage, one after another. This time I met their first girl, baby J, while her two older brothers went off to a water park with their dad. I missed seeing them, but of course I understood the lure of the park...
Strong neck, as she peeks at her mama:
And smiling already! Obviously brilliant.
We have this same picture of one (if not both) of her brothers. Had to snap the yawn again.
And we always do bath pictures in the sink with these guys... some of my favorite moments with little ones are when they're getting bathed.
Reacting to mom:
And again with the neck control!
Jess - I think this is my favorite picture I've had of you from all the shoots - you just look so serene and calm here. Must be that mom-ming of 3 suits you. :)
And the two happy girls...
So incredible to get to share this time with you guys again. I hope the move plans have come together, and that you'll come back to Boston someday for #4's pictures!
